The Wolverine

The sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, actually takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. That was the third movie in the original X-Men trilogy. Hugh Jackman is returning as Wolverine and besides taking place after The Last Stand, it will also be in Japan.

This will be Hugh Jackman's sixth movie as Wolverine including his cameo in X-Men: First Class. I can't really see anyone else playing Wolverine, can you? He is the perfect fit for the character.

If you don't remember The Last Stand, let me refresh your memory. Jean Grey who turned into Phoenix was killed by Wolverine because otherwise she would have killed everyone, Professor X kinda died, I don't want to give away any spoilers if you've never watched the ending after the credits of The Last Stand, but if you haven't seen the last scene, watch it. Magneto kinda lost his powers but actually didn't because he moves the metal chess piece.

So I'm guessing Wolverine is pretty upset right now, because Jean died. It was reported that there will be a flashback with Jean Grey in The Wolverine, so that will be pretty cool. The villain is reported to be Silver Samuari and played by Will Yun Lee. Will Yun Lee is the main character's voice in Sleeping Dogs, if you've ever played it. So far there is no one else reported in the movie from the original trilogy, but we'll see eventually.

The Wolverine is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2013.
