The Man of Steel: Rumors or Spoilers?

I'm sure you are all aware of the upcoming Man of Steel starring Henry Cavil as Superman and being directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan. It wasn't a surprise to me that there would be tons of rumors floating around, it's typical of any Nolan film. I can remember all the rumors surrounding The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Everyone thought The Riddler would be in both at one point, talk of Johnny Depp and Eddie Murphy playing the part came up a few times.

The rumors surrounding The Man of Steel are the same, but recently those rumors have become true.

SPOILER ALERT

Mackenzie Gray who played a Lex Luthor clone in Smallville (the old one who died) is apparently going to be playing the real Lex Luthor in Man of Steel.

I was very happy to hear about this, when the movie first started casting actors the name Lex Luthor wasn't ever mentioned. I was unhappy about that, Lex is Superman's nemesis. It wouldn't be the same if he wasn't in it.

There's has also been talk of an after credits scene. I'm not sure of what it could be, maybe a hint to the Justice League? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Man of Steel hits theaters June 14

7 Things Wrong With The Star Wars Prequels

With Star Wars Episode VII coming in a few years, there are a few things that they shouldn't do that they did with the prequels. If they want success, copy the notes from the sequels.

The prequels were horrible compared to the sequels. When you think of Star Wars what's the first thing(s) that pop into your head? For me it's Darth Vader, Han, Leia, and Luke. The first thing you think of isn't Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon or even Anakin. The original three Star Wars movies stand out more so than the prequels because they were more epic for their time. Think about it, the 70s and 80s. Star Wars was huge, epic space battles and lightsabers for the first time ever. Then there are the prequels. Episode I doesn't really count, because that movie was just so bad to begin with and I will get more into that later, but Episode II came out in 2002. Hard to believe isn't it? 2002, the same year that Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers came out. Lord of the Rings definitely destroyed Attack of the Clones with pure epicness.

Episode VII cannot make the same mistakes as the prequels.

This is a list of things that made the prequels not as good as the sequels.

#1. Too Much Focus On Special Effects
It was obvious, they had new technology to make things look cooler, but don't Michael Bay it. Explosions look cool, but too many looks like you were bored and just added random explosions. There has to be a balance, Episode I didn't have enough of anything. Episode II had too much. Episode III was ok with the special effects, actually Episode III was probably the best of the three. Still no where near as good as IV-VI but, still decent.

#2. Actors Not In Their Prime
It wasn't pretty for Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, or Hayden Christenen (still isn't). There were only a few actors who did a good job only because they have been good actors their entire life: Liam Neeson and Christopher Lee. But as for the rest, it wasn't a job well done. The worst scenes would probably have to be the scenes with Padme and Anakin. Horrible, horrible, shoot me now. You could barely tell that they were in love, the only reason you knew they would is because of the sequels. Between Anakin's creepy back rubbing thing to Padme's talking about her random crush. I seriously felt like I was watching Star Wars Episode II: The Return to High School.

#3. A Comic Relief That Wasn't Comic
Jar Jar Binks, perhaps one of the most pointless characters in Star Wars. I'm guessing he was supposed to be the comic relief, but he didn't prove himself, hence his small part in the next two movies. The sequels had Han. A main character with a sense of humor. With all the seriousness of the prequels, it didn't even seem like I was watching a movie for enjoyment.

#4. Took Way Too Long To Get To The Point
Did you realize that it took about a half an hour to just see Anakin (the main character and main purpose of Star Wars) in the Phantom Menace? So the main character wasn't Anakin in the Phantom Menace, it wasn't Obi-Wan, all that's left is who...Qui-Gon? A great main character who if you remember dies at the end. So they wasted about thirty to forty minutes on Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan until they found the whinny brat.

#5. Bad Guys Weren't Epic
In the sequels there is Darth Vader and the Emperor. Two bad guys who well at least, Darth Vader, was cool and bad and a challenge to the good guys. Remember the first time Luke fought Darth Vader on Bespin? Luke lost, he didn't die, he lost. It was clear that Darth Vader was much stronger and more powerful than Luke. Then there are the prequels, a spike head with a double lightsaber, an old man with a curved lightsaber, a robot with lungs with four lightsabers, and a old troll with a lightsaber. Darth Maul, he kills Qui-Gon (our main character) and Obi-Wan then cuts him in half. With the exception of Darth Maul being played by Ray Park and all his cool stunts with his double lightsaber. And old guy with a curved handle lightsaber? What were they thinking? And then it gets better, a cyborg with not one, not two, but four lightsabers. More isn't always better.

#6. Movies Were Rushed
Episode II and III especially. Episode II, the Clone Wars lasted years. Hence why they made the cartoon The Clone Wars. But the worst is Episode III, worst part of that movie was when Anakin turned into Darth Vader. It literally took like a second. He cuts off Mace's hand, says "what have I done?", then he tells The Emperor that he will do whatever he wants. What?? If it's that easy to turn to the dark side, how are their any Jedi?

#7. Same Force Powers
We already saw force lighting, force choke, force push, and force lift. We didn't want to see them again. They were cool the first time, but not the second time. They should have created something new, something different. Like force super speed or something. I would have enjoyed that, take the whole Flash thing into the Star Wars Universe.

Annoying Characters From TV Shows

At a request of a commenter, I decided to make a top five list of most annoying characters from TV shows. I was going to do kids again, but I couldn't think of enough.

I know that there are more than this, but here are my top five most annoying characters in TV:

#1. Wesley Crusher. From Star Trek The Next Generation. He was Dr. Beverly Crusher's son and probably the most annoying character to ever be on a TV show. He was very annoying and whinny. Typical of any kid on any serious TV show. Also a very useless character, he didn't do much of anything. He annoyed Captain Picard in the first season the most. Eventually, Picard "liked him" a.k.a put up with him.

#2. Janice. From Friends. Janice, where to start? Her voice, her laugh, ughh it gives me the chills just thinking about it. Why Chandler kept going out with her is beyond me. Even though every time he wanted to dump her, yet he still dated her. Back to Janice, she is probably the most annoying female character to ever be on TV.

#3. Jackie. From That 70's Show. Jackie was a major pain in the butt. All of her constant whining and complaining to Kelso, oh sorry, Michael. She was the only character to always call Kelso, Michael. That was annoying. Her voice didn't help much either or her bossiness or her constant bragging about herself.

#4. Hilary. From The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Hilary, she was one of those characters who didn't serve much purpose after the first season. Plus her constant snotty attitude got really annoying after like the first episode.

#5. Rachel. Another From Friends. I know most people watched Friends because Jennifer Anniston was in it and it's also the only reason the show lasted ten seasons. Besides Janice, she was the most annoying main character in that show. I don't think there is an episode of her not crying, sobbing, yelling, or just being annoying. And that whole sobbing talking thing was really annoying, it wasn't funny, you couldn't even understand what she was saying. She kinda had the same attitude as Jackie and Hilary too, that snobby arrogant attitude of being from a wealthy family.

So there you go, if you think I left someone out, which I'm sure I did. Please tell me who you would add to your most annoying characters from TV.
