All Things Star Wars

Hey yall! It certainly has been a long time. Just wanted to talk about some upcoming Star Wars related topics. So without further ado, let's get into it.

1st, and what I'm super pumped about is EU Grand Admiral Thrawn coming to Star Wars Rebels!! So, so pumped about this. For those of you who know me and my blog, you know I'm a huge EU fan. And Thrawn is one of the coolest villains out there. The fact they're actually adding him to Star Wars Rebels is just so awesome. And what's even better, yes there is more! Timothy Zahn (the original creator of Thrawn and not to mention the best Star Wars author) is writing a new book in the new universe about Thrawn!!!

2nd, How amazing does Rogue One look?! Honestly, I'm more excited for Rogue One than I was for Force Awakens. Maybe it's just because it's like a solo film in best part of the timeline for the Star Wars universe, but I don't know. Seeing those AT-ATs again is just amazing. Not to mention all the cool new stuff like the Death Troopers (who are technically Shadow Troopers from EU). And some other new stuff that doesn't really fit. Like the new U-Wing? Umm... it wasn't in A New Hope which in the timeline is only shortly after Rogue One. So hopefully they'll explain what happened to those ships as well as the TIE Striker? I can't remember the name if that's not it. As well as that awesome looking tank the Empire has. Although I do really love the creativity in Rogue One! Something The Force Awakened really lacked in...

Let's just take a moment and look at Episode 7 and it's lack of creativity, shall we? Okay. X-Wings that look a little different. TIE Fighters that have the colors swapped... The First Order's transports look like submarines. Kylo Ren's shuttle looks pretty awesome still, and it's definitely different. So that was cool. Don't even get me started on the Resistance "Transport" ship that Leia arrives in... Then we have Starkiller base which is just a bigger Death Star. The Finalizer (Star Destroyer)... eh... okay so that made it look slightly different, but I can't complain too much. I've always been a huge fan of Star Destroyers. Not to mention the recycled plot from a New Hope. All in all, The Force Awakens was kind of disappointing. Really hoping to see some improvements in Episode 8, although I see they're bringing in the A-Wing. So I already have low hopes. But Rogue One looks amazing.

Also if Episode 8 or 9 doesn't have a big awesome space battle with capital ships, I'm going to be very upset.

Anyway, back to the third thing... 3rd, Oh seems like that was it!

Well there is something else. George Lucas really destroyed Return of the Jedi... Let's go back shall we? Aside from the pretty awesome story and the awesome space battle and still one of the coolest lightsaber duels. We've got little stupid furballs defeating the best trained soldiers in the galaxy. Come on George.... We know they can't aim...for some reason, but to have teddy bears with rocks beat them?? Then THEN he goes and kills off one of the coolest and biggest fan favorite villains - Boba Fett. THIS is what I love the EU so much. Boba kills the Sarlacc and escapes it and then once again becomes a threat to Han, Luke, Chewy, Leia, etc..

While we're talking about the EU. Other than Thrawn, another big person they need to add to some movie is Mara Jade! Like she's got to be one of the coolest Sith/Jedi ever. So for those of you who don't know Mara. Let me tell you how awesome she is. When we first meet her in the books, she's the Emperor's Hand - a Sith. Later she meets Luke Skywalker. She turns to the light side and becomes a Jedi, marries Luke, and has a son named BEN Skywalker. (Another thing The Force Awakens stole).

Sorry about the rant.

J.J. Abrams Is A Genius If....

So after seeing how many spoilers there are in other trailers, it made me really appreciate the Star Wars trailers. Although, if the movie sucks.... it's kind of pointless...

That is all. Short post. Yes I know.

Star Wars Episode 7: Trailer

Hey everyone, okay so I've always been a huge Star Wars fan and always will be, but why aren't they using the Expanded Universe?? Ugh, that just annoys me. All those awesome books they wrote in case anyone decided to make more movies and they just ignore them.

Anyway, so I know this is titled "Trailer", but we'll get to that.

So the "New Star Wars Universe" book, Aftermath came out a few months ago and it was... awful. At first I compared it to the good Star Wars books, you know the EU? Yeah, okay, so I thought that might be bad taste. So I decided to look at it as a new reader to Star Wars and I was still disappointed.

Aftermath was worse than awful, it was boring. A boring Star Wars book is not good.

What could have made it better?

Well, lets see. How about characters we actually care about?? People were excited to read this book for one purpose - to figure out what's happening between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. And nothing was told. Yes, sure some little things were mentioned, but nothing substantial.

I don't suggest reading the book. Instead read Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy. It's epic.

Anyway onto the current trailer for The Force Awakens.

So... okay. I'm going to be honest, I was disappointed with the trailer. It was just a glorified teaser. If we are honest with ourselves, everyone will agree with me on this. The trailer told us nothing new. We already knew Rey was a scavenger, Finn a troubled stormtrooper, Poe an x-wing pilot who gets captured, Ren a bad guy who's obsessed with Vader, Starkiller Base is on a snow planet like Hoth, Jakku is basically a cooler version of Tatooine, That other planet that looks like a mix between Endor and Yavin, and that other one that resembles Sullust.

Seriously with the planets? Can't they think of something different than snow, forest, and sand?

So still no one knows even a little about the plot and no one knows who all the characters are (granted I understand their reasoning behind not revealing a few last names - that's fine, but who is Max Von Sydow playing?)

Every other Star Wars Trailer was epic and it didn't change the way I wanted to see them. I wanted to see them all no matter how much they revealed.

Things I wish the trailer had: (Other than the things I named above)

Space Battles. All the battles with the fighters were over the land. Yeah, it looked cool, but please J.J. have a Space Battle. It's called STAR WARS for a reason.

So I'm just speculating here, but I think Finn isn't the Jedi in this movie. The part at the end of the trailer where he just looks scared to death by Ren doesn't appear very Jedi like. Fear leads to the dark side. My guess is and has always been, Rey is the Jedi and the daughter of either Leia or Luke.

Since J.J. has already said this trilogy will continue the Skywalker family, one of those kids (Rey, Finn, Poe, or Kylo) is a Skywalker.

Alright, so I know all you "die hard" Star Wars fans of the NEW movie are going to hate me, but whatever. It had to be said.

Anyway. Leave your hateful comments below or your nice ones. Take your pick. Enjoy.

CGI Getting Out Of Hand?

Hey everyone, so I've been hearing disturbing rumors that film companies are thinking about bringing people back to life via CGI. Yes, you read that right. So if you miss Elvis, prepare to not miss him much longer.

So at first, I was like, alright that's kind of cool. But now, I feel like it's wrong, just wrong.

Here's why:

1st. Wouldn't this hurt the current stars of Hollywood? Parts they would usually get are going to dead stars. I have a feeling they won't be too happy about this.

2nd. What if the movie was awful? It would hurt the great long passed star's reputation. Imagine if they cast CGI version of Patrick Swayze as Ryan Reynold's Green Lantern? Or John Wayne cast as The Lone Ranger in The Lone Ranger movie. That would kill their reputation.

3rd. It's just wrong. I can't explain the reasons why, but it's just wrong. Something about bringing a dead person to life using CGI isn't morally right. It's one thing to bring Paul Walker and Philip Seymour Hoffman back as CGI to finish their current movie, but to bring someone completely back. I don't know about you, but I don't like that idea.

Leave your thoughts below, tell me your reaction to hearing this.

Everything Wrong With The Harry Potter Movies: Part 1

Hey there, if you read the Harry Potter books before watching the movies as I did, you know exactly where I'm going with this article. If you're on of those people who will kill anyone who trashes the Harry Potter movies, listen up - this article is for you.

The Harry Potter movies weren't horrible, actually they were quiet good. Though, there were some things they could have done a bit more accurately, but chose not too and that was a big mistake on their parts. For those of you who didn't read the books, let me explain what you're missing out on by only watching the movies.

First off, the first book.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

What they left out:

PEEVES!!! Why did they not have Peeves the Poltergeist in ANY of the movies??? Dumbest decision ever! Who is Peeves, you ask? Well, he's probably one of the best trouble makers in all the books! He dropped water balloons, ink bottles, dungbombs, and other things at passing by students. Filch hated him too, because he always had to clean up after him - he was always making a mess, you see. What else, well, he drove Professor Umbridge up a wall and he fought in the Battle of Hogwarts - he defended the school valiantly. He would often sing - mainly mock, he would call Harry Potter - Potty.

The Potion Challenge - a.k.a. Snape's Challenge. Remember when the three heroes had to go though all those challenges to reach the Sorcerer's Stone? Well, they skipped a challenge - actually two. Hagrid's Fluffy, Sprout's Devil's Snare, Flitwick's flying keys, Dumbledore's Mirror, McGonagall's chess set, but they left out two. Snape's potion challenge and Quirrell's troll. The troll was previously knocked out, but Snape's challenge was probably one of the most interesting. It was a riddle - several potion bottles - one would grant them safe passage across a fire and the others would poison them. Luckily Harry had Heromine with him, because she figured it all out in her head.

What they changed:

The snake at the zoo is supposed to be a Boa Constrictor not a Python.

Dudley and Petunia are supposed to be blonde.

Harry first meets Draco in Diagon Alley.

Harry returns home after picking up his school supplies with Hagrid. Also the Dursleys pick up and drop off Harry every year.

Harry sees his parents and extended family in the Mirror of Erised.

Neville has detention with Harry, Draco, and Heromine - Ron wasn't there.

Harry and Heromine give Norbert (the dragon) to Charlie Weasley (actually the smuggle him out). Which lands them in detention.

Harry receives his broomstick in secret, because he's the Gryffindor secret weapon.

A few other things that wouldn't matter, to be honest the first movie was pretty close to the book.

As goes for the second.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

What they left out:

Peeves - again...

The Deathday Party - the anniversary of Nearly Headless Nick's death. Harry, Ron, and Heromine attend the party to show their support for their house ghost. But soon regretted it. The food is spoiled, the music is scratchy, and everyone there was a ghost.

Professor Binns - The ghost professor. He died at his desk, but didn't realize it so he kept on teaching as a ghost. He teaches History of Magic. Also he is the teacher that explains The Chamber of Secrets.

What they changed:

Harry was locked in his room with bars on his window for weeks - not just one day.
Harry, Ron, and Fang are carried by spiders and are taken to Aragog - they didn't follow a trail.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Now this is where they started to mess up really bad.

What they left out:

Explaining the Marauders!!! - You know the map, Fred and George give Harry? Yeah, well the map was created by the Marauders - which are Remus Lupin (Moony - a werewolf), James Potter (Prongs - an animagi which turned into a buck/stag/deer), Sirius Black (Padfoot - an animagi which turned into the grim or big black dog), and Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail - an animagi which turned into the rat). Animagi are people who can turn into an animal and the three did this in order to keep Lupin safe when he would transform into a werewolf.

Ron and Heromine's Arguments. - Remember in the movie when Hagrid gives Scabbers to Ron and Heromine is all like, "I think you owe someone an apology!" Well, if you never read the book you were probably like, "Why is she so angry? Scabbers was only missing for like part of the movie." - Well this is the real story... Scabbers went missing, Ron blamed Crookshanks. Heromine defended her cat. And thus Ron and Heromine didn't speak to each other for about half of the book. So when they find Scabbers, it's a big deal - because well, you'd have to read the book.

Harry's Crush on Cho. - If you watched the fourth movie and were like, who's this random Cho girl. You were probably not alone. Cho is the seeker for the Ravenclaw team. Harry and Cho faced each other in a game (also not shown), and he developed his crush on her.

Sirius and Crookshanks - Crookshanks helped Sirius into the castle when he was in his dog form.

What they changed:

Harry does NOT use his wand and use the spell Lumos while reading a magic book while at the Dursley's house - that would be called Underage Wizardry, which he could once again be kicked out of Hogwarts for. Instead Harry used a flashlight.

Harry gets his Firebolt right after his Nimbus 2000 breaks from Sirius, but they don't know that, but McGonagall has her suspicions and confiscates it.

Buckbeak isn't the only hippogriff. There are dozens of them.

Well, that's all I've got for you right now. Part 2 will have books 4 and 5. And Part 3 will have 6 and 7. There are many more wrongs in those books and so those will be longer blog articles.

Well, I hope you enjoyed! Comment below!

What I Didn't Like About Star Wars Battlefront Beta

Hey, everyone. Hope you're enjoying your Sunday. I know this article is coming a little late, but I decided to write it after I noticed no one else complaining about what I'm going to complain about.

So let's begin: (Some of these complaints may only be because it's a beta and truth be told, a beta is not a demo as many believe.)

#1. The unlimited additional weapons. Now, I'm hoping this was only made for the beta. But the unlimited grenades and additional perks seemed stupid to me. I don't want the game to be super easy, I want it to be a challenge. They should limit the grenades to two and each of the additional perks to one each or allow a custom player creation like Call of Duty. (This is actually what I think they're going to do with the real game, and they're just letting everyone get a taste of the game. Which brings us to number 2.)

#2. The random power ups around the map. As I said before, this is hopefully just a thing for the beta so everyone can try out all the game has to offer. I'd much rather have the hero be a like a kill streak reward, I'd rather be allowed to enter into vehicles at will, and the other additional weapons and perks be kill streak awards as well.

#3. I want spawn points. I don't want randomly appear behind some random dude, I want command points. If I wanted to play Call of Duty, I'd play Call of Duty. (Unless it's customization!)

This has nothing to do with the Battlefront Beta, but has everything to do with EA.

EA is charging $50 for their expansion pack. $50!!! That's like an entire game. Which it better be. I'm not spending $50 for a few weapons, skins, and one map. There better be like multiple maps, weapons, skins, and game modes in there.

Well, that's all I had to say. Comment below, let me know if you had any complaints about the beta or if you liked the things I complained about.

Too Much CGI?

So movie companies have been CGIing everything recently. It started out as okay, because I mean the world has gotten better with their computer graphics and stuff, but now it's getting ridiculous.

So for Fast and the Furious 7, they are going to CGI the late Paul Walker's face and voice onto his brother, Cody Walker's body. I don't know about you, but that's just weird. So if they can CGI people onto other people. So are they going to bring back Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne too? Are we going to start seeing dead actors in movies again? Who'll get the credit for the parts...they're descendants? It may look natural when they do it, but it's just strange to me.

What do you think of all the CGI? Tell me what you think in the comments below.
