Yep, you read that right. Agent Phil Coulson of SHIELD is returning to Marvel. After he died in The Avengers, it was kinda a letdown. A lot of people including myself really liked him with his dry sense of humor. He was a good fit, he brought all the superheroes together to form The Avengers.
Unfortunately, he won't be returning to any Marvel movies, but he will star in the upcoming Marvel TV show, SHIELD. You probably won't see any superheros in this, the show is going to focus more on the spy operation of SHIELD. So maybe Nick Fury will appear, sense he is the actual founder of SHIELD in the comics.
This show will probably be aired on ABC, but I'm not positive. When Disney bought Marvel they talked about expanding it to TV and ABC came up a lot.
This show's main character is Phil Coulson played by Clark Gregg. There are some other actors, but I didn't recognize any of the names. This show will be directed by Joss Whedon who also directed The Avengers.
Not sure when this show will air, I'm guessing next year. It got the green light to air the pilot, so I guess that means their filming it.
